1) First, I molded my cat into clay.
2) Then from there, I put the metal pieces in it to divide it into two parts. I mixed up some plaster and whipped it onto one side of my piece. Let that dry and then did the other side. After that dried, I cleaned up the edges and slowly wedged my piece open.
3) I then cleaned out the molds and got it prepared for the final step. Then I put it in evenly in the sand.
4) I mix up some more plaster and poured that inside. Then I let it sit and dry. Slowly, wedged it open and hammer away the outer plaster mold.
After, I did have to go back in and re-carve out some of the detail especially in the mouth area. I do not have a final picture up but I will get it up soon to show you how it turned out. I did epoxy his tail and feet back on. I do plan on painting it and I will post pictures to when I get to that stage.
